Hot! Alpha Cars Bring Style To Private Hire Industry

Alpha Cars are the biggest private hire cab firm in the city of Liverpool and recently received great news: Their grand plan to create a comfortable waiting lounge and booking office in the city centre has been given the go ahead. An historic warehouse located near Liverpool One is where this new office will be located. When passengers book a private hire cab, they can wait in comfort in a lounge before the cab arrives to pick them up from the front door.

The Planning Committee of Liverpool City Council consulted with planning officers and unanimously agreed to approve the plan. James Bradley is the owner of the cab firm and responsible for coming up with the idea. He is an experienced cab driver and stated that this service is not available in most UK cities. He claims that passengers requested the change and as a result, he has been planning to create the lounge for years. He says that all customers, especially females ones, need and deserve an environment where they can safely wait for cabs.

The entire project involves a professionally run booking office and waiting lounge which will include a coffee bar. There will also be CCTV monitoring the premises will hopefully dissuade criminals from causing any disturbances. At night time, there will be experienced security staff from registered agencies on the door to further increase safety. Bradley praised the local police force for providing full backing to the scheme. He spoke of how Liverpool has grown as a tourist city in the last few years and has a vibrant night time economy.

Bradley believes this has greatly aided the taxi industry and he also said his scheme finally brings the private hire industry into the 21st century. He continued by saying that the project introduces a central pick up point which means the city benefits from greener transport as fewer cars will be operating in the city centre. Alpha Cars has more than 400 vehicles with each cab containing state of the art Global Positioning System devices which enables Bradley to track and control his entire fleet. He concluded by saying that Liverpool desperately needed this type of facility and he hopes that work can begin quickly.

Steve Chapman is the Managing Director of Devaplan Ltd and aided Bradley when it came to planning the scheme. He stated that this was an exciting scheme for the centre of the city. Chapman went on to state that the project easily met all the necessary criteria and is certain to increase the standard of taxi facilities in the city. The warehouse where the office will be built hasn’t been used for many years and this new project brings another disused building in Liverpool back to life.
