Hot! Student Seriously Injured After Fall From Taxi In Sheffield

A student studying in Sheffield fell from a taxi and fractured his skull last Thursday night in Sheffield. Police are trying to trace the driver of the cab in order to ask him some questions about the incident. The 20 year old man got into the cab in Milton Street shortly before 2am on the night in question. However, he is believed to have fell out of the moving taxi at some point on the journey home to Rotherham.

The passenger was travelling with 3 friends in the cab and fractured his skull and eye socket during the accident. He was brought to Rotherham Hospital and has remained there for observation though he will probably to be brought to Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital for surgery. According to the police, the injured party’s friends paid the taxi driver the fare and the cabbie drove away. There is the possibility that no one knew the severity of the injury at the time and his friends mistakenly believed he was okay.

However, police are keen to speak to the driver and get his version of events. They are also seeking witnesses. A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police confirmed that the incident occurred on Swallow Wood Road and believe that the taxi involved in the accident is a Peugeot Expert. She also confirmed that the man is currently in hospital and may require surgery later in the week. Finally, she mentioned that one of his friends paid the driver and the cab left the scene. The police have urged any witnesses to come forward as soon as possible so that they can discover what happened to the student that night.
